This little device is wonderful! If you care about the air you breathe or are just curious, you will find this device to be a valuable health monitor. Plus, it has an eight hour battery, so it can be portable to test the air wherever, Room to room or place to place, inside or outside. Would definitely benefit those with COPD or other respiratory issues.
Works well and seems accurate. I learned that my dryer does not affect AQ but my fry pan does. That was worth the price. So I stopped worrying about using my dryer but realized I needed an oven vent. After that I didn’t use it. Until...
...the wildfires! Holy smokes (literally). As the smoke from upstate blew in, this became critical in helping me manage air quality as we sheltered indoors.
The Laser Egg works really well from what I can tell. The air quality where I live is usually good, but I heard that it could be worse inside. I wanted to check it out and the Laser Egg seems really accurate, the readings lined up with what I found on the EPA's site.
One thing I didn't realize was the readings went up so much when I cooked, same with the TVOC... I kept my windows open last time and it really seemed to help, and I'm really glad I know about it now. I saw some reviews about connecting it to my phone, but I didn't have a problem with it at all, the app had instructions. Overall, I think the Laser Egg does the job and its accurate
It does a good job giving readings that are easy to see and read. I enjoy the temperature and humidity sensor, but biggest value for me is the TVOC monitoring. It's worth paying a little more for this one over the 2nd generation. We have young kids (and one with asthma) so it helps to keep an eye on the air.
Initially had some trouble connecting to the app, as I'd get an error message when trying to scan the Homekit code. But realized it was because I needed to connect to wifi - so double check that before trying to pair. Pretty simple setup afterward. Settings updates appear almost instantly on the device screen, and I like that I can see the air on my phone.
